The Here and Now

Like most girls my age, I grew up reading The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books. I was ecstatic when “Rory Gilmore” starred is my favorite sister. Though it’s been many years since the original books came out, I still love the immersing myself in that world. Some of the beginning chapter quotes, are among my favorites. I loved the way that Ann Brashares  made characters. I was excited to see that she has come out with the new series, exploring more sci-fi teen romance.

The book follows a young girl who has traveled back from the future to help save humanity. The group she traveled with has strict rules that she  must follow. Like any good teen hero, she doesn’t want to.

Follow the rules. Remember what happened. Never fall in love.

The scenery might be different, but Brashares’ writing is just as thrilling as always. If you’re looking for something to remind you of your childhood, or you’re recommending a book to a teen girl who loved The Hunger Games check this one out next month!
