New Year, New Goals: Powersheets 2016

This year I will...

Not to jump on the cliche bandwagon but the start of a new year always feels like a good time to re-evaluate. There’s something special about turning to a new year on the calendar and getting to see a whole new 12 months ahead.

For me, this means setting new goals. Now, there’s nothing special about January 1st. New Year’s Resolutions are a tool, NOT  a dictate! This year I’ve been trying out something new with my goal setting and planning. Remember when I blogged about my Emily Ley Planner?  Well, Emily Ley led me to her good friend Lara Casey who runs Southern Weddings Magazine, wrote one of my favorite books of 2015 AND created the Powersheets.

By now you’ve likely seen some posts on Instagram from your favorite bloggers, gurus and others with some gorgeous Powersheets. You’re probably wondering what they are and what all the fuss is about. Well I’ve got the scoop!

The Powersheets are a way to set intentional goals and work toward reaching them. They walk you through a series of steps to look at what worked over the past year, what didn’t and what you want to accomplish in the year ahead.

As you walk through the steps, you create a vision board for what you want to focus on in the next year….which admittedly sounds a little Oprah to me. But once I did it, I realized that it clarified a few things. Here’s what I came up with:

I’ll be sharing my reading and personal goals on Wednesday. In the meantime if you want to pre-order the (now sold out) Powersheets, click here or if you just can’t wait check out Lara Casey’s goal-setting series here.
