I wrote on Monday about the new way that I am setting goals, and today I thought I would share what had come out of that process! I ended up setting seven new goals for the year ahead.
- Get and keep my home organized.
I have a lot of stuff and after reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess I want to change that! I’ve also noticed that I am less stressed when my space is more organized so I am going to take the time to sort out my thins.
- Save more, spend less.
Paying off student loans is no joke! I am going to make a concerted effort this year to pay them down so that I can pay them off faster. Here’s hoping!
- Focus on my health.
Unlike the typical “get a bikini body” resolution, I am coming at health from a different angle. I have been suffering from worse migraines over the past year and I want to see if making eating and exercise changes (more yoga and meditation, fewer gluten free pizzas) could help before I try more medication.
- Do more challenging things at work.
I am really starting to find my groove with my job, especially after the Harry Potter Holiday Feast that I planned (more on that in another post!). I would like to continue with that momentum and do more events for the kids!
- Develop my sewing skills
I’ve really gotten into sewing over the past few months! Now that I have a sewing machine (Thanks Mom & Dad!) I want to try some more challenging projects. On the docket are: a coat, a pair of jeans, another wrap dress, and a maxi skirt.
- Cultivate gratitude and positivity.
This one might be the most challenging one and is also the most difficult to measure. I want to remember all of the GOOD things and be grateful for them, rather than always focusing on comparison and not living an “instagrammable” life. FOMO is rampant and I want to be sure that I am appreciating where I am right now.
- Write more here on the blog.
The past year has seen rather sporadic posting from me and I would like to change that in 2016. Part of that is going to mean switching up the content a bit more, like with this post. As much as I love reading and reviewing books, I would love to share some of my other loves on here as well. You can look forward to some sewing posts, organizing posts, and of course, more book reviews!
What do you think? Did you set any goals for the new year? Check back on Monday for my reading goals for this year!
